Look Ma! No hands!

i've been getting decent these days on manipulating the dart without the use of hands--shooting it off the forearm, legs, neck, teeth, shoulder--whatever to keep it moving, the closest thing to a hand grab being pinching the dart with your wrist by moving the hand down to pinch the rope in the crease and/or changing wrist rotations slightly to effectively control the dart. Pretty crazy stuff, i highly recommend trying it. The hard part is developing the sudden ''shuddering'' force to loose the rope wrapped around your arms or legs to cause it to shoot off. Anyhoo, lemme know your thoughts and feelings on this :p

Excellent. That seems like a worth while venture. I personally prefer to play with a dart that is not connected to my body at all. I've got a monkey's fist at one end and the wick at the other. So it is going to be a challenge to keep the loose end bound also but I will be playing with this idea for sure.

I am confused about how you cannot get the sudden force out of it. Do you have any video of your playing?

i too do not tie the rope to any part of the body, but rather allow it to form what i call "friction knots" around the neck, armpit, elbow, wrist...that's basically when the free end of the dart which i tie into a small knot with a bit of frayed rope out the back wraps around you in someplace where the loop touches itself and you are able to pinch the 2 together with some muscle/body/whatever.

i don't have any vids yet as i don't have a camera and my only buddy with a camera is very far out of town :(

The shuddering force i'm talking about refers to say, sticking your arm into the path of the rope, letting the rope make 1 or more coils around your forearm and combining a fa jing 'shudder' force with a fast arm turn at precisely the right moment in the dart's trajectory to allow the dart to shoot off hands free without becoming entangled on the limb. i can do 1 coil, and am kind of hit and miss on the double coil--the whole idea is to create enough sudden force with the natural twist to make the rope loosen from the limb.

I think I will just have to wait for some video to understand what you are saying. Because I feel like I understand you, but I don't.

Let me know when you can put it up.

        Create a Playful Day!

Try only wrapping it once around each arm so as you swing it does a slow slid forcing you to continously rewrap each arm in turn. Then when you wrap you neck or leg or whatever third place, it puts the brakes on the slide giving you a half a second to adjust you grip and add an extra wrap before you shoot it.
