Tue, October 23, 2007 - 8:11 PMI'd like to see more visible variety. I liked the bondage aspect, although I did start to get bored of it towards the end. I think you'd do well to pick up some empty knots, and see how you can work them in.
You've got a good start, keep going!

Wed, October 24, 2007 - 3:04 PMThe video looks good. You kept a pretty good jam going in the wrap. Have you tried an arm and leg wrap? And then work within that space for a while? -

Re: video
Thu, October 25, 2007 - 9:42 AMi have tried doing leg/arm wrap combos, but i find it chews up too much rope or restricts the left hand (loop around left wrist anchors rope)...coming more from a tech poi background, i'm finding the leg wraps and restrictions to be some of the most complicating aspects of the ropedart...
on the flip side, when i started this, a guy showed me a wrap type meditation that involves trying to wrap yourself as many times as possible and continue to manipulate the dart...this usually leaves one in a ball on the ground, bound around arms, neck, and a leg, batting the dart around between the hands...
i doubt that would factor into the traditional rope dart style, but it looks cool...very tech... -

Re: video
Thu, October 25, 2007 - 11:19 AMI've never had much luck with arm/leg wrap combos either. Haven't explored it too much though.
I'd suggest two things. First, expand your ways of getting out of the wraps. punctuating a long wrap sequence with a shot is excellent, but have it be different and elaborate if possible. Doing the same spin-shot gets predictable. Secondly, (and this one's more esoteric), I'd suggest getting more comfortable with long wrap sequences, so it looks much less like you are directly controlling the dart. The long wrap/semi bondage aspect works so much better when you can create the illusion that the rope is controlling you.
It's funny, because I generally consider tech in rope dart as having lots of jump-kicks and different shots, as opposed to having long and intense wraps. I really like your take on this, and hope to see you do more. It's a real good starting point that I haven't seen anyone really explore yet. Well done.
